Wallyball Rules

All players must be wearing their issued shirts of the appropriate sport and season. Failure to abide by this rule will result in a match forfeit and/or other punishments at the discretion of the league.

Those rules will be in use, with the following changes: Serves are allowed to hit 1 side wall. Serves cannot hit the net or either back wall.

Games will be played to 25, rally scoring, win by 2. In the event time is called, the team ahead on points wins the match. In the event of a tie score when time is called, a sudden death point will be played. Unplayed games will count as a draw.

All 3 games of the match count in the standings.

1 female on the court at all times.

If a team hits the ball into the ceiling on the opposite teams side of the court the ball is dead and the point or ball is awarded to the other team. If a team hits a ball into the ceiling on their own side, the ball is still playable.

If a player from one team hits the ball so hard that it hits the back wall on the other side of the court and hits or crosses the center line, the ball is dead and the point or ball goes to the other team.

You cannot use feet (kicking).

Substitution of players from other Wallyball teams is allowed during the regular season, either to bring the number of players on the court up to a full roster or to meet the minimum gender requirements. The addition of each substitute player will result in 4 points per player being added to the score of the opposing team at the time the substitute player participates. These points are added for every game in which the substitute player or players participate. Substitute players are not allowed during playoffs.

Other changes may be forthcoming during the season to clarify any existing rules. This is a new sport, and expect the rules page to be flushed out over the course of the season.
